Gauripur, February 04, 2024: In a proactive move, officials from the Gauripur Police Station successfully intercepted a vehicle transporting smuggled cattle. Acting on a tip-off regarding the illegal transportation of cattle from West Bengal, Officer-in-Charge Jitumoni Baishya led the raid.
Based on the information received, the police team swiftly raided the area, seizing four smuggled cattle along with the vehicle bearing registration number WB 06 E 8777. Shockingly, the cattle were found with their feet tied in a cruel manner, indicating the harsh treatment they endured during transportation.

The interception occurred on an inner road in Asharakandi, Gauripur, where the police diligently detected the presence of smuggled cows. Despite their efforts, the driver managed to evade capture under the cover of darkness during the nighttime operation.
