Agomani, February 19, 2024: In a decisive move against the illegal teer activities plaguing Golokganj, the local police executed a raid resulting in the arrest of a prominent teer agent, Shyamal Debnath. This operation came after a previous attempt to apprehend Debnath resulted in a violent confrontation.
Police faced aggression during the initial arrest attempt of Shyamal Debnath, a key player in the teer underworld. In a bid to protect lives, the police resorted to firing shots, one of which struck Debnath. Subsequently, Debnath received medical treatment at Barpeta Medical College, where he remarkably recovered and swiftly re-engaged in teer activities.

Despite the setback, the determined Golokganj police, acting on a credible tip-off, successfully arrested Shyamal Debnath today. This arrest marks a significant step in dismantling the illegal teer operations that have plagued the region.
