Guwahati Cyber Team Recovers ₹5.5 Lakhs from Fake Investment Scam
Guwahati: In a major breakthrough, the Cyber Police Station team in Guwahati has recovered ₹5.5 lakhs for a victim of an online scam. The funds were credited to the victim’s account after efforts by the police.
The victim, a resident of Zoo Tiniali in Guwahati, had initially fallen prey to a fraudulent online investment scheme. The scam caused him a significant loss of ₹40 lakhs. However, with the recovery of ₹5.5 lakhs, the authorities are making progress in retrieving more of the victim’s funds.
Efforts are ongoing to recover the remaining amount, with the police continuing to investigate the scam and track down those responsible. This case highlights the rising threat of fake online investment schemes and the importance of staying cautious when engaging in online financial transactions.
