Guwahati Police Intercepts Truck Smuggling 20 Live Cattle, Arrests Three Smugglers
Guwahati: In a major anti-smuggling operation, the West Guwahati Police District team from Jalukbari Outpost intercepted a truck early this morning at the Jalukbari Flyover. Acting on intelligence, the police stopped the truck, registered under number AS 26 C 9024, which was attempting to smuggle 20 live cattle. The interception took place in the early hours of the day, ensuring the illegal transport was foiled before it could proceed.
Three individuals involved in the smuggling operation were immediately arrested. The accused have been identified as Nazrul Haque from Mukalmua, Jeherul Ali from Alopatichar, and Mainul Ali, from Tarabari. They are now in police custody, and further investigations are ongoing to uncover additional links to this smuggling network.
The prompt action by the Guwahati police highlights their ongoing efforts to combat illegal cattle trafficking in the region. With such coordinated efforts, law enforcement agencies continue to disrupt smuggling activities across Assam.
