Guwahati: In a significant operation, the Guwahati Police successfully dismantled an active gang of robbers with the arrest of seven individuals. The joint effort, conducted by teams from Hatigaon Police Station (PS) and Dispur PS, led to the apprehension of four suspects in Ganeshguri, who were plotting another robbery in Chandmari.
The arrested individuals include Abdul Razak (22), Mohidul Islam (20), Sukur Ali (23) from Bilasipara, and Kazimuddin Pradhani (30) from Hatsingimari. The prompt action of the police prevented a major crime, thanks to intelligence received during the investigation.

The gang had been active in the region, with reported cases of robberies, including one in Dwarka Nagar on October 5 and another at Sewali Path, Hatigaon, last month. Among the arrested, two suspects were working as Rapido drivers, while the others were employed as daily wage earners.
The police recovered a range of stolen items from their possession, including two bikes (with registration numbers AS 01 FM 4060 and AS 17 Q 7221), four screwdrivers, four sharp weapons, ₹4,60,000 in cash, five gold pieces, seven mobile phones, a weighing scale, a wristwatch, and 110 old coins suspected to be stolen.
Further investigations are underway, and legal action has been initiated against the arrested individuals. The police continue their efforts to dismantle criminal networks in the region.
