Guwahati Police Seize 65 kg Cannabis in Major Bust Near Maniram Dewan Trade Centre
Guwahati, September 10, 2024: In a major crackdown, a joint team from the West Guwahati Police District intercepted a large cannabis consignment near Maniram Dewan Trade Centre. Acting swiftly, officers from Garchuk Police Station and Bharalumukh Police Station seized a total of 65 kg of cannabis from two vehicles last night.
During the operation, three suspects were taken into custody. They have been identified as Sansuma Daimary, aged 34, Raidao Narzary, aged 29, and Jospin Daimary, aged 22. The police seized two vehicles, bearing registration numbers AS 01 BT 0800 and AS 12 AA 0976, which were used for transporting the illegal substance.
This successful operation highlights the ongoing efforts of the Assam Police in curbing drug trafficking in the region. Authorities remain vigilant and have reiterated their commitment to targeting those involved in the illicit drug trade.
