Guwahati Police Arrest Burglars Within 8 Hours, Recover Stolen Gold and Cash
Guwahati; March 07, 2025: In a swift operation, a team from Basistha Police Station cracked a burglary case within eight hours of the crime. The police arrested two seasoned burglars in Kuipath, Hatigaon, recovering stolen valuables, including gold, cash, and an iPhone 13.
The burglary took place in Bhetapara when the city was asleep. The suspects, identified as Saddam Ali (24) and Nurul Amin (20), gained entry through a ventilator. They looted gold jewelry, ₹60,000 in cash, and an iPhone 13 before fleeing into the night.
Acting on intelligence, the police tracked the accused to Kuipath and arrested them red-handed with stolen items. The recovered loot included:
- Gold earrings, a gold chain with a locket
- An iPhone 13
- Burglary tools (screwdrivers, nails, etc.)
- Multiple stolen mobile phones
- ATM cards, Aadhaar and voter IDs
- RC book and driving license of an unrelated individual
During interrogation, the duo confessed to committing another burglary the previous night in Bongaon, Guwahati. Authorities have initiated legal action, and a further investigation is underway.
