Guwahati Police Raid Leads to Arrest of Two Drug Peddlers and Seizure of Heroin
Guwahati: In a significant crackdown, the Special Operation Group of the Central Guwahati Police District, in collaboration with Chandmari Police, raided a drug hideout at Haldinari in Noonmati, Guwahati. The operation targeted House No. 46, leading to the arrest of two drug peddlers.
The suspects, identified as Mintu Rahman from Ganesh Nagar and Md. Dhon Ali, 41, from Mangaldoi, were apprehended during the raid. Authorities seized 50 vials of suspected heroin weighing 68 grams, along with 550 empty vials and ₹61,500 in cash.
Additional items recovered included four mobile phones, 10 empty soap cases, two scooters with registration numbers AS 01 ED 9930 and AS 02 X 4814, and a car (AS 01 BK 6723) fitted with a red siren. These items are believed to have been used in the illegal drug trade.
This operation highlights the police’s relentless efforts to curb drug-related activities in the city. The suspects are currently under custody, and further investigations are underway.
