Guwahati Police Crack Down on Drug Trade, Seize 20.6 Kg Ganja in Raid
Guwahati; January 31, 2025: A team from the East Guwahati Police District raided a hideout in Lokhra, leading to the arrest of a notorious drug peddler. The operation, conducted by Basistha Police Station officials, targeted 38-year-old Samulya Das from Lakhipur.
During the raid, police recovered 20.6 kg of ganja from his possession. Officers also seized a mobile phone and a vehicle bearing registration number AS 01 QC 1090. Authorities have initiated legal proceedings against the accused.

The crackdown is part of an intensified effort by Guwahati Police to combat the drug trade. Officials have urged the public to report any suspicious activities to help curb narcotics smuggling in the region.
