Police Intercept Cattle Smuggling Attempt, Rescue 38 Live Cattle in Guwahati
Guwahati, August 12, 2024: In a decisive operation, a team from the West Guwahati Police District, Jalukbari Out Post, intercepted a truck attempting to smuggle 38 live cattle near Radisson Blu Hotel, Guwahati. The truck, bearing the registration number AS 28 AC 0615, was stopped following a tip-off received by the police.
The intercepted vehicle was found to be carrying the cattle illegally, with the intent to transport them out of the area. The swift action by the police team ensured the immediate rescue of all the animals, preventing their illicit trade. The incident underscores the continued efforts of the authorities to combat illegal activities in the region.
