Major Drug Bust in Guwahati: Police Seize 15.588 Kg of Cannabis and Arrest Three Peddlers
Guwahati, August 26, 2024: In a significant drug operation yesterday morning, the Special Operation Group of the West Guwahati Police District, of the Jalukbari Out Post, intercepted a major drug trafficking attempt near Haj Bhawan. The police seized 15.588 kilograms of suspected cannabis, which was discovered in four separate packs.
The operation led to the arrest of three individuals, all from Mazbat in Udalguri. The arrested suspects include Rupohi Rabha (30), Anima Goyari (36), and Maloti Nursary (40). These arrests are part of a broader crackdown on drug-related crimes, aiming to dismantle trafficking networks and ensure the safety of the community.
Guwahati Police are continuing their investigation to uncover any further connections and additional suspects involved in the drug operation.
