Guwahati Police Seizes Arms and Liquor from Byrnihat Resident in Jorabat Operation
Guwahati, August 23, 2024: In a recent operation, a team from Central Guwahati Police District’s Satgaon Police Station successfully intercepted a vehicle near Amsing, Jorabat. The vehicle, with registration number ML 10 D 1845, was found carrying a substantial cache of illegal items.
The police arrested Anton H Thanghmirliana, a 31-year-old resident of Byrnihat. During the search, officers recovered several items from Thanghmirliana’s possession. These included 10 live cartridges marked as Shaktiman Express 70 mm, two Khukris with wooden handles, an axe without a handle, and a mobile phone. Additionally, the police seized two bottles of liquor and various grocery supplies, such as rice and soyabean.
The arrest and recovery of these items underscore the vigilance and effectiveness of the Guwahati Police in curbing illegal activities in the region. Further investigations are underway to determine the source and intended use of the seized items.
