Guwahati Police Achieves Success in Recovering Funds Lost to Online Scams
Guwahati, August 05, 2024: The Cyber Police Station in Guwahati has achieved significant success in recovering funds lost to online scams. A victim from Silpukhuri, who fell prey to a fake investment WhatsApp group, had the full amount of ₹2.88 lakhs restored to their bank account. The swift and efficient action by the cyber team ensured the victim was not left in financial distress.
In another commendable recovery, the Cyber Police Station team successfully retrieved ₹43,950 for a victim ensnared by an online scam. This amount was also fully credited back to the victim’s bank account, underscoring the team’s commitment to addressing cyber fraud and ensuring justice for those affected.
These recoveries highlight the proactive and effective measures taken by the Cyber Police Station, Guwahati, in combating online fraud and protecting citizens from financial exploitation.
