Two Stolen Wheat Trucks Worth ₹32 Lakh Recovered by Assam Police in Tinsukia and Bokakhat
Guwahati: The West Guwahati Police District team, Azara Police Station, successfully cracked a major wheat theft case. The case involved the theft of two truckloads of wheat, totaling 1,560 bags valued at ₹32 lakhs.
After a meticulous investigation, police recovered the stolen trucks, bearing registration numbers AS 02 DC 0139 and AS 31 C 1038, from Margherita in Tinsukia district. Additionally, 780 bags of wheat were retrieved from Kuber Roller Flour Mills in Bokakhat.
The operation led to the arrest of seven individuals involved in the crime. The suspects include Shyamal Debnath (38) of Samaguri, Md Anwar Uddin (22) of Jamunamukh, Md Sakir Alom (22) of Jamunamukh, Md Diluwar Hussain (29) of Murajhar, Md Rusmat Ali (38) of Samaguri, Laxmi Kant Thathera (46) of Numaligarh, and Binoy Pathak (56) of Motihari, Bihar.
The police highlighted the importance of community awareness and cooperation in cracking such cases. Enhanced vigilance and swift actions were key in recovering the stolen property and apprehending the suspects.
