Traffic Restrictions in Guwahati R.K. Choudhury Road Affected by Railway Over Bridge Construction

Guwahati; March 13, 2024: The Office of the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Traffic, has announced temporary traffic restrictions on R.K. Choudhury Road due to the construction of a Railway Over Bridge (ROB) at Railway Gate No. 9 under Bharalumukh Police Station. These measures aim to ensure public safety and facilitate smooth movement for emergency vehicles.

The new traffic regulations will be effective from March 14, 2025, until the completion of the construction work. Authorities have issued the following restrictions:

No vehicles will be allowed between K.R.C Road tri-junction and Bharalumukh Police Point.

Vehicles from Fatashil Chariali/Santipur heading towards Bharalumukh Police Point will be diverted at K.R. Choudhury tri-junction, allowing movement towards either K.R. Choudhury Road or Santipur Main Road near Pragjyotispur College.

Vehicles on K.R. Choudhury Road can proceed towards A.T. Road or D.G. Road via K.R.B Road and B.R.P Road.

Vehicles from M.G. Road/A.T. Road can enter Fatashil Chariali through F.A Road, B.R.P Road, or K.R.B Road.

The stretch of F.A Road under Athgaon A.T. Road Flyover to Kumarpara Panchali (via Railway Gate No. 6) will be designated as a one-way route. Vehicles from M.G. Road/A.T. Road (via F.A. Road) can proceed towards Kumarpara Panchali/Fatashil Chariali. However, vehicles will not be allowed to travel from Kumarpara Panchali towards A.T. Road.

Roadside parking will be prohibited on both sides of K.R. Choudhury Road, K.R.B Road, B.R.P Road, and F.A. Road.

The Guwahati Traffic Police urges citizens to follow these traffic advisories and cooperate with authorities for smooth implementation. These measures will help in ensuring safety and minimizing congestion during the construction period.
