Two Drug Peddlers Apprehended in Hailakandi, Heroin and Cash Seized
Desk Report, June 02, 2024: Hailakandi Police, with the invaluable assistance of the local community, successfully apprehended two drug peddlers under the astute leadership of the Officer in Charge, Hailakandi Police Station. During a thorough search of the premises, a substantial quantity of 64 grams of heroin along with cash amounting to Rs. 61,000 was seized. The operation was conducted under the vigilant supervision of an Executive Magistrate and the Deputy Superintendent of Police (HQ), Hailakandi.
The apprehended individuals have been identified as Toibur Rahman Barbhuiya, hailing from Borjurai, under the jurisdiction of Hailakandi Police Station, and Babul Hussain Laskar, residing on College Road within the same jurisdiction.
The ongoing investigation aims to unravel the intricate network of drug trafficking in the region. The collaborative efforts of Hailakandi Police and the proactive involvement of the local populace signify a collective resolve to combat the menace of narcotics trafficking.
