Hailakandi Police Seize 116 Grams of Heroin, Arrest One in Anti-Drug Operation
In a decisive move against drug trafficking, Hailakandi Police apprehended a suspected drug peddler during a late-night operation. The arrest was led by the Officer-in-Charge of Ramnathpur Police Station, in collaboration with the In-Charge of Jamira Patrol Post and their team.
The operation, conducted in Jamira Pt IV under Ramnathpur Police Station, resulted in the arrest of Joynul Hussain Choudhury, a resident of Goor Basti in Hailakandi district. A thorough search of his possession led to the recovery of 10 soap cases containing 116 grams of heroin.
The seized heroin, worth a significant amount in illegal drug markets, has been secured as evidence. Officials confirmed that the contraband was seized in compliance with the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
