Assam STF Arrests Suspect in Guwahati Raid; Heroin and Ganja Recovered
Guwahati: In a swift anti-drug operation, Assam’s Special Task Force (STF) raided two locations under Dispur Police Station’s jurisdiction in Guwahati, uncovering a substantial cache of illegal drugs. Targeting sites in Kalyanpur, Hengrabari, and a residence on Ganga Path in Anandapur, the STF seized heroin weighing 138.84 grams, 645 grams of ganja, and 107 SPM-PRX tablets containing Tramadol.
Along with the drugs, officers recovered 52 empty vials, two mobile phones, and a large amount of cash. These findings suggest an organized network likely involved in local drug distribution. The primary suspect, identified as Bhaskar Kalita from Bajali, has been taken into custody as investigations continue.
This successful raid reflects the Assam STF’s dedication to tackling drug trafficking. Their operation, based on targeted intelligence, sends a clear message to those involved in the illicit drug trade: enforcement remains vigilant.
