Assam Police Seize 850 Grams of Heroin in Major Drug Trafficking Bust
Desk Report, June 01, 2024: In a significant breakthrough in the fight against drug trafficking, the Golaghat Police and Karbi Anglong Police conducted a successful joint operation in Doigrung, resulting in the seizure of 850 grams of heroin. Acting on credible intelligence, authorities intercepted a vehicle and apprehended three individuals in connection with the bust.
Chief Minister of Assam, Himanta Biswa Sarma, took to social media to commend the efforts of the police forces, stating, “Good job Assam Police! We will not stop till we eliminate the menace of drugs from Assam.” The Chief Minister reiterated the government’s unwavering commitment to eradicating drug trafficking from the region, pledging sustained efforts in this regard.
