IG BSF Guwahati Frontier Reviews Security Preparedness at Indo-Bangladesh Border
Dhubri: Inspector General (IG) Sanjay Gaur of the Border Security Force (BSF), Guwahati Frontier, conducted a detailed review of the operational preparedness along the Indo-Bangladesh border. The review focused on the current security scenario and efforts to combat trans-border crimes.
During his visit, the IG inspected the Sector Headquarters at Dhubri and several Border Out Posts (BOPs) situated along the international border. This included a visit to the riverine char areas in the Brahmaputra under South Salmara-Mankachar district of Assam. Commandants from respective units briefed the IG on the challenges faced and strategies employed to enhance border security.
The discussions centered on the BSF’s preparedness and measures to counter issues like smuggling, illegal crossings, and other trans-border crimes. The IG also explored potential solutions to strengthen border operations and improve surveillance in the riverine areas, which pose unique security challenges.
While interacting with officers and troops, IG Sanjay Gaur lauded their dedication and commitment to ensuring the safety of the nation’s borders. He acknowledged the adverse weather conditions and geographical challenges faced by the personnel while fulfilling their duties. The IG praised the BSF’s consistent efforts to control crime along the Indo-Bangladesh border, emphasizing the significance of their contribution to national security.
