Enhanced Rainfall and Thunderstorms Forecasted Across Various Regions of India
Desk Report, March 23, 2024: Meteorologists are predicting increased rainfall and thunderstorm activity across multiple regions of India in the upcoming days. Recent weather updates indicate that Northeast India and Sikkim will likely experience intensified rainfall along with thunderstorms from March 23rd to 26th, 2024.
Over the last 24 hours, several parts of India have already experienced different levels of rainfall and snowfall. Arunachal Pradesh saw light to moderate rainfall and snowfall, while Sikkim had isolated instances of light to moderate rainfall. Furthermore, heavy rainfall was reported in isolated areas of both Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim.
A cyclonic circulation, coupled with a trough aloft, is currently affecting Northeast Assam and adjacent areas. This weather system is causing scattered to fairly widespread rainfall across Arunachal Pradesh, Assam & Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura from March 23rd to 29th, 2024.
During specific dates within this period, isolated heavy rainfall and snowfall are expected over Arunachal Pradesh, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, as well as Assam & Meghalaya. Maximum temperatures in these regions are below normal by 1-3°C.
