Israel Executes Precision Airstrikes on Iran in Response to Missile Attack
Israel Launches Targeted Airstrikes on Iran After Recent Missile Attack
In a decisive response to Iran’s recent missile assault, Israel launched a series of airstrikes on Iranian military sites early Saturday, October 26, 2024. The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) targeted key installations in Iran following the October 1 attack when Iran fired around 200 ballistic missiles into Israel—its second direct strike in six months.
The IDF described the operation as “precise strikes on military targets in Iran,” aiming to neutralize immediate threats posed by the Islamic Republic. Residents in Tehran reported hearing explosions, although Iranian officials stated the strikes caused only “limited damage.”
Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari, IDF spokesperson, confirmed the conclusion of Israel’s response, stating, “I can now confirm that we have concluded the Israeli response to Iran’s attacks against Israel. We conducted targeted and precise strikes on military targets in Iran — thwarting immediate threats to the State of Israel.” With the airstrikes concluded, Israeli forces emphasized the fulfillment of their defensive mission, signaling readiness to counter further threats if necessary.
