Joint Operation Nets Drug Courier in Cachar: Cachar Police and Assam Rifles Team Up
Silchar, February 16, 2024: Acting on classified intelligence regarding a drug transaction in Ramnagar, a collaborative effort between the Cachar Police and the 39 Bn Assam Rifles camp Masimpur unfolded. A surprise inspection was conducted at Ramnagar Part-Vi Village in response to the tip-off.
During the operation, a scooty attempted to evade the police team, but officers successfully intercepted the rider, identified as Sur Chandra Singha, hailing from Ramnagar, Tuko, Silchar. Upon searching Singha, law enforcement recovered a substantial stash of 20,000 YABA Tablets.
The street value of the seized narcotics is estimated at a staggering four crores. Prompt legal action is now underway as authorities move to address the situation effectively.
