Karimganj Police Push Back Bangladeshi Nationals During Midnight Border Operation
Guwahati, August 28, 2024: In a concerted effort to bolster border security, Karimganj Police successfully detected and pushed back three Bangladeshi nationals attempting to infiltrate Indian territory. The operation took place in the early hours of the morning, around 00:50 hours, today.
The individuals identified as Md. Zubair Sheikh, Juel Sheikh, and Ruma Khatun were apprehended near the Indo-Bangladesh border during routine surveillance by the Karimganj Police. Acting swiftly upon their detection, the authorities ensured that the trio was immediately returned to the Bangladeshi side of the border, thereby preventing any illegal entry into Assam.
This action is part of the ongoing efforts by Assam police to safeguard the state’s borders against any potential infiltration. The police have been on high alert, especially in regions like Karimganj, which are prone to cross-border activities.
