Major Heroin Seizure in Morigaon: 2 Arrested in Midnight Operation
Morigaon, July 24, 2024: In a significant anti-drug operation, Morigaon Police seized a large quantity of heroin valued at approximately Rs 1 crore. Acting on a tip-off received late at night, the police conducted the operation, leading to the arrest of two individuals.
The suspects, identified as Amjad Ali, 37, and Abdul Hasen, 55, were apprehended during the midnight raid. Amjad Ali is a resident of Langribari under Moirabari police station, while Abdul Hasen hails from Lahripam village under Laharighat police station.
During the operation, authorities seized the suspected heroin, which was packed in 71 soap cases. This successful seizure underscores the ongoing efforts of the Morigaon Police to combat drug trafficking in the region.
