Lumding-Tinsukia Express Transforms into DEMU Service with New Train Numbers

Conversion of Lumding–Tinsukia Express into DEMU with Revised Number

Guwahati, June 14, 2024: In a significant update for rail commuters, the Lumding-Tinsukia Express will be converted into a Diesel Electric Multiple Unit (DEMU) service with revised train numbers. Starting on June 15, 2024, the Lumding-Tinsukia route will operate as train number 75601, and the return journey will run as train number 75602 from June 16, 2024.

The previous train numbers 15901 and 15902 will be replaced to streamline operations and improve service efficiency. This change aims to enhance travel convenience for passengers on the Lumding-Tinsukia-Lumding route.

Additionally, operational constraints in the narrow-gauge section have led to the cancellation of several services. The following trains will be affected:

–  Train no. 52541 (New Jalpaiguri – Darjeeling) Passenger and train no. 02541 (Kurseong – Darjeeling) Special will not run on June 12, 14, 16, and 18, 2024.
–  Train no. 52540 (Darjeeling – New Jalpaiguri) Passenger and train no. 02540 (Darjeeling – Kurseong) Special will be canceled on June 13, 15, 17, and 19, 2024.

Passengers are advised to plan their journeys accordingly and stay updated with the latest schedule changes. This transition aims to provide a smoother and more reliable travel experience.
