Major Infrastructure Boost for Assam: Ministry of Rural Development Sanctions 78 Roads and 14 Bridges
Desk Report, July 12, 2024: In a substantial push to improve infrastructure, the Ministry of Rural Development has sanctioned the construction of 78 roads and 14 bridges in Assam. This project, under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) – III, involves an investment of Rs. 378.68 crore.
The initiative aims to strengthen rural connectivity and spur economic growth in the North-Eastern region. With 563.67 km of new roads and multiple bridges, the project promises to bridge the gap between remote villages and urban centers, enhancing access to essential services like healthcare, education, and markets.
This development is expected to foster economic growth, boost trade, and create job opportunities, thus stimulating local economies. It aligns with the government’s vision of a prosperous Northeast and a developed India (Viksit Bharat).
