Karimganj Police Seize Contraband Drugs Worth Rs 30 Crore Hidden in Vehicle’s Petrol Tank
Desk Report, July 11, 2024: In a significant breakthrough, the Karimganj Police have recovered contraband drugs valued at Rs 30 crore from a vehicle’s petrol tank. Acting on actionable intelligence, the police intercepted a vehicle traveling from a neighboring state and discovered 100,000 YABA tablets concealed within hidden chambers of the vehicle.
The operation, led by Superintendent of Police Partha Pratim Das, resulted in the apprehension of two individuals connected to the illicit cargo. The successful bust underscores the relentless efforts of the Karimganj Police to combat drug trafficking in the region.
Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma took to social media to commend the police force, stating, “Good job Assam Police.” His acknowledgment reflects the administration’s support for the ongoing initiatives to curb the drug menace in the state.
