Major Drug Trafficking Bust in Golaghat’s Merapani: Four Arrested and Heroin Seized
Desk Report, May 27, 2024: In a meticulously orchestrated operation reminiscent of a well-rehearsed symphony, the Golaghat Police, in collaboration with the Merapani Police and the F/142 CRPF, dealt a significant blow to the nefarious world of drug trafficking. This joint effort led to the apprehension of four individuals and the seizure of a substantial quantity of heroin, shedding a glaring light on the clandestine underbelly of the region’s illicit drug trade.
The quartet, identified as Ainul Haque, Tafiq Ali, Abu Bakar, and his wife Anjuma Begum, were apprehended in a decisive move that underscores the unwavering commitment of Golaghat Police to pursue justice. Their arrest took place from a Bolero vehicle bearing the registration number AS 05 Q 9697, within which 41 plastic soap boxes were meticulously packed with heroin, totaling 505.05 grams.
