Gossaigaon, February 22, 2024: In a significant operation, the Gossaigaon Simultapu Police successfully apprehended two individuals and seized an extensive quantity of Cannabis (Ganja) valued at a staggering Rs 3 crore. The operation unfolded in Srirampur at Gossaigaon, highlighting Police’s commitment to curbing illegal activities.
The meticulous raid, conducted by Simulatapu police from the Gossaigaon Sub-Division, unfolded along National Highway 31 in Srirampur during the evening hours. The Police team intercepted a truck with the registration number WB 23 C 5342, uncovering a concealed stash of ganja with an estimated market value of Rs 3 crore.

Under the leadership of Simultapu Police Out-Post In-Charge, Sanjay Kumar Rai, a substantial quantity of ganja, weighing 465 kg, was unearthed from a secret compartment within the truck. The operation resulted in the detention of the truck’s driver, Ravi Kumar, and the helper, Rahul Kumar, both hailing from Patna, Bihar.
A total of 130 packets of ganja were seized during the raid, further emphasizing the magnitude of the operation. The market value of the confiscated ganja exceeds Rs 3 crore, showcasing the enforcement’s success in combating the illegal drug trade. The arrests and seizure send a strong message about the authorities’ unwavering dedication to maintaining law and order in the region.
