Major Marijuana Seizure on National Highway 31 Leads to Three Arrests

Major Cannabis Haul Unearthed in Police Raid on National Highway 31

Gossaigaon, March 22, 2024: In a significant operation on National Highway 31 at Srirampur, under the Simultapu Police Outpost in Gossaigaon, Police seized a substantial amount of marijuana, commonly known as cannabis. The illegal substance was discovered concealed within a vehicle, ingeniously stashed in various compartments of the car’s engine and body.

The vehicle, bearing the registration number WB 08 C 2160, was believed to be transporting the cannabis to Bihar. Upon inspection, the police apprehended three individuals involved in the smuggling operation.

The seized cannabis weighed a total of 47 kilograms, with an estimated market value exceeding Rs 10 lakh. The authorities are conducting further investigations into the matter.
