Manipur Police Arrest One with 2.037 kg Opium at T. Khullen Checkpost
In a significant anti-drug operation, Manipur Police apprehended a man carrying 2.037 kg of suspected opium, locally known as “Kani.” The arrest occurred at T. Khullen Naka Checkpost in Senapati district.
The accused, identified as Ramesh Kumar, aged 35, was traveling in a four-wheeler when police intercepted him. Upon searching the vehicle, officers discovered the opium along with several other items.
Recovered from Kumar’s possession were the following: 2.037 kg of opium, one four-wheeler, a mobile handset, an Aadhaar card, a driving license, and cash amounting to Rs. 2,000.

Authorities suspect Kumar’s involvement in drug smuggling activities in the region. The arrest highlights the increasing vigilance of law enforcement in combating illegal drug trade along key transit routes in Manipur.
