Manipur Police Conducts Successful Search Operations in Fringe Areas: Seizes Arms Cache
Desk Report, May 06, 2024: In a proactive move to ensure security in the vulnerable regions of Manipur, the Manipur Police executed thorough search operations. The operations yielded significant results as a cache of weapons and explosives was unearthed.
During the meticulously conducted search missions, a variety of armaments were seized. These included one Carbine with two magazines, one 9mm Pistol with a magazine, four live 36 HE grenades, and fifty rounds of live ammunition. Additionally, five PEK sticks of IED weighing approximately 750 grams, six SLR tube launchers, and one 75 detonator were confiscated.
Furthermore, the authorities discovered eight 36 Hand Grenade arming rings, two Ballistic cartridges, one Tear shell, one C90 MK 3 grenade, and two 80 grenade MK-1(WP). Notably, a Bicard Strip and two walkie-talkies with one charger were also among the recovered items.
These operations were carried out in Aimol village and Irengbam Maning, Bishnupur District. The successful outcomes underscore the commitment of Manipur Police to maintain law and order in the region, thwarting potential threats to public safety.
