Drug Bust in Boko: Significant Quantity of Heroin Seized in JM Market Raid
Boko, June 7, 2024: In a significant crackdown on drug trafficking, Boko police have recovered a large quantity of heroin from the shoe, sandal, and clothing sections of JM Market in Boko Bazaar. Acting on a tip-off, Police officials conducted a raid that led to the seizure of a packet of heroin along with 44 containers of the illicit substance.
The raid resulted in the arrest of Soudarya Das, the owner of the shop. In addition to the drugs, police confiscated two mobile phones and Rs 8,220 in cash. The suspect’s residence is reported to be in Agia Ulupara in the Goalpara district.
This operation underscores the ongoing efforts of the Boko police to combat drug trafficking in the region. The authorities have reiterated their commitment to rooting out narcotics and maintaining public safety. Further investigations are underway to identify and apprehend other individuals involved in the drug network.
