Morigaon, February 15, 2024: A substantial fire erupted at a Jute Corporation of India (JCI) godown in Assam’s Morigaon district, reducing properties worth several crores of rupees to ashes, according to reports. Situated in the Bhuragaon area of Morigaon, the godown was engulfed in flames, prompting immediate response from district administration officials.
Multiple fire tenders were swiftly dispatched to the scene to contain the blazing inferno. Despite efforts, properties valued at several crores were destroyed in the massive fire, as per reports. Thankfully, no casualties have been reported in connection with the incident.

The exact cause of the fire remains undisclosed, pending further investigation. Authorities are working diligently to ascertain the factors that led to the devastating outbreak. Additionally, several thousand quintals of jute stored within the godown were consumed by the flames.
