Massive Police Operation Leads to Seizure of Suspected Illegal Burmese Supari in Golokganj
Agomani, Macrh 27, 2024: In a concerted effort against suspected illegal trade activities, Golokganj police executed a large-scale operation targeting the transportation of Burmese Areca Nut (Supari). Led by Sub-Inspector Aminul Islam of Golakganj police station, the operation unfolded at the railway gate of National Highway 17 in North Raipur Part I of Golakganj.
The meticulously planned raid resulted in the interception and subsequent detention of four individuals involved in the alleged smuggling operation. Three Bolero pickup vehicles, purportedly laden with suspected illegal Burmese supari, were brought to a halt during the operation. The vehicles, bearing registration numbers AS 18 AC 3173, AS 17 C 7711, and AS 17 C 3437, were promptly seized by the authorities.
The detained individuals, identified as Saddam Hussain, Mintu Sheikh, Rahim Badsha, and Alal Uddin, are currently under police custody as investigations into the matter continue.
It has been reported that the suspected illegal Burmese supari was en route to West Bengal from Jogomaya Ghat in Dhubri at the time of interception.
