Nitin Gadkari Reviews 57 Assam National Highway Projects for Swift Completion
Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, chaired a comprehensive review meeting in New Delhi to assess 57 National Highway projects spanning 1001 kilometers in Assam. The meeting focused on accelerating infrastructure development, resolving pending issues, and ensuring timely completion of projects critical to enhancing regional connectivity.
Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, Union Minister for Ports, Shipping & Inland Waterways Sarbananda Sonowal, Minister of State for Road Transport & Highways Ajay Tamta, Minister of State for External Affairs Pabitra Margherita, and other senior officials from the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH), National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL), National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), and the Government of Assam participated in the discussions.
The review placed special emphasis on the early completion of key stretches such as the Jorhat-Dibrugarh Highway, which is vital for Assam’s connectivity and economic growth. The participants discussed measures to expedite these infrastructure projects, which are essential for fostering sustainable development in the region.
