Desk Report, February 14, 2024: In a strategic move aimed at alleviating the surge in passenger numbers, the Northern Frontier Railways (NFR) has officially announced the introduction of special train services from Guwahati’s Kamakhya Station to Delhi’s Anand Vihar Station.
The weekly service, identified as train no. 02525, will operate the Kamakhya-Anand Vihar route, while its counterpart, train No. 02526, will traverse the Anand Vihar-Kamakhya route. Commencing from Friday, February 16, these special trains are scheduled to run for 24 trips, concluding on July 26, 2024, according to an official release.
The inaugural journey, train no. 02525 (Kamakhya – Anand Vihar), is slated to depart every Friday at 10:45 pm from Kamakhya Junction. Arriving at Anand Vihar Terminal every Sunday at 08:40 am, it sets the tone for a reliable and timely service. Simultaneously, train no. 02526 (Anand Vihar – Kamakhya) will depart from Anand Vihar Terminal every Sunday at 5:20 pm, ensuring a Tuesday arrival at Kamakhya station by 03:40 am.

Both train routes will pass through Goalpara Town, Abhayapuri, Bilasipara, Gauripur, Golakganj, Tufanganj, New Coochbehar, New Jalpaiguri, Katihar, Khagaria, Barauni, Danapur, Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyaya, and Aligarh Junction. The coach composition is comprehensive, featuring one 1st Class AC coach, two AC Two Tier coaches, five AC Three Tier coaches, five AC Three Tier Economy coaches, four Sleeper Class coaches, and two General Sitting coaches, accompanied by a Pantry Car.
