Police Seize Suspected Heroin in Guwahati Raid; Drug Peddler Arrested
Guwahati, August 11, 2024: A team from the West Guwahati Police District, operating under the Fatasil Ambari Police Station, conducted a successful raid at a hardware shop in Guwahati, seizing a significant quantity of suspected illegal substances. During the operation, Police officials seized 10 vials of suspected heroin weighing 13.40 grams, 50 Nitcor tablets, 24 grams of ganja, ₹1,50,770 in cash, and a mobile phone.
The raid led to the arrest of Hangsharaj Das, a 39-year-old resident of Nijaraban Path, Guwahati, who is believed to be involved in drug peddling activities. Authorities have initiated legal action against the accused.
This operation marks a continued effort by the Guwahati Police to curb drug trafficking and related crimes in the region.
