Assam Police Seize Yaba Tablets Worth Rs 8 Crore, Arrest Two in Karbi Anglong
Desk Report, June 06, 2024: In a significant anti-narcotics operation, the Karbi Anglong Police have seized Yaba tablets worth Rs 8 crore and apprehended two individuals. The operation was announced by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.
“During an anti-narcotics drive carried out by Karbi Anglong Police tonight, a vehicle was intercepted at Dillai Point, leading to the seizure of 40,000 Yaba tablets valued at Rs 8 crore,” Chief Minister Sarma stated in a social media post.
The two persons arrested were allegedly involved in the transportation of the drugs, the Chief Minister added. The operation highlights the ongoing efforts of the Assam Police to combat the drug trade in the region.
