Prime Minister Modi Receives Russia’s Highest State Award
Desk Report, July 10, 2024: In a prestigious ceremony held at St. Andrew Hall in the Kremlin, Russian President Vladimir Putin conferred Russia’s highest national honor, “The Order of St. Andrew the Apostle,” on Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This recognition, announced in 2019, highlights Modi’s significant contributions to fostering India-Russia relations.
During the acceptance, Prime Minister Modi dedicated the award to the people of India and the enduring friendship between the two nations. He emphasized that this honor reflects the robust Special and Privileged Strategic Partnership shared by India and Russia.
Instituted over 300 years ago, “The Order of St. Andrew the Apostle” is a testament to historical achievements and contributions. Prime Minister Modi is the first Indian leader to receive this esteemed award, marking a milestone in the diplomatic history of both countries.
