Desk Report, April 22, 2024: The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has opened its doors for online applications for the positions of Sub-Inspectors and Constables in the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Railway Protection Special Force (RPSF). The application window remains open until May 14, offering aspiring candidates the opportunity to apply for a total of 4,660 vacancies across various departments.
The RRB has released two Centralized Employment Notifications (CENs) for the Indian Railways. The first, RPF 01/2024, specifically targets 452 Sub-Inspector (Executive) vacancies within the Railway Protection Force and Railway Protection Special Force. Meanwhile, the second notification, RPF 02/2024, addresses 4,208 Constable (Executive) vacancies within the same departments. Commencing on April 15, the application process for RRB RPF Constable and SI recruitment 2024 is exclusively conducted on the official websites of the respective RRBs.
Candidates interested in applying for RPF SI and RPF Constable vacancies should take note of the May 14 deadline. Additionally, a window for correcting application forms will be open from May 15 to 24, 2024.
The selection process for RPF Recruitment 2024 entails several stages. Initially, all candidates will undergo an Online Computer-Based Test (CBT). Subsequently, candidates will be shortlisted based on their performance in the CBT, with the number of shortlisted candidates being ten times the number of vacancies in each category (Male/Female/Ex-Servicemen). Final selection will be based on merit within each category, followed by Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Physical Measurement Test (PMT), and Document Verification (DV) for shortlisted candidates.
Regarding the age limit criteria, applicants for Constable (Executive) vacancies must be between 18 and 28 years old as of July 1, 2024. Meanwhile, for Sub-Inspector vacancies, candidates should be aged between 20 and 28 years old as of the specified cut-off date. A one-time relaxation of 3 years beyond the prescribed limit is granted due to the COVID-19 pandemic, with further relaxation for candidates from reserved categories.
In terms of educational qualification, candidates applying for Constable vacancies must have passed at least Class 10 from a recognized board. For Sub-Inspector vacancies, a graduation degree from a recognized university is required.
Applicants are required to submit their forms through the official websites of the respective RRBs. The application fee for both posts is Rs 500 for all candidates, with exceptions for SC, ST, Ex-Servicemen, Female, Minorities, or Economically Backward Class (EBC) candidates, for whom the fee is Rs 250. It is noteworthy that a portion of the fee will be refunded after appearing in the computer-based test (CBT).
