Virat Kohli Shines as RCB Clinch Thrilling Victory Over PBKS in IPL 2024 Thriller
Sports Desk, March 26, 2024: Virat Kohli played an amazing game, helping Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) win by four wickets against Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 on Monday.
M Chinnaswamy Stadium was set for another great show from Virat Kohli. Jonny Bairstow missed catching him early in the game. This led to Virat Kohli hitting three boundaries in just four balls. Kagiso Rabada got Faf du Plessis and Cameron Green out early, but Kohli and Rajat Patidar made sure RCB stayed on track.
Harpreet Brar from PBKS took quick wickets of Patidar and Glenn Maxwell, putting his team in a good spot. But Kohli had his moments, too. He got out but not before scoring crucial runs.
In the end, Dinesh Karthik and Mahipal Lomror played superbly, scoring 48 runs together in just 21 balls. Karthik finished the game with a boundary, sealing the win for RCB.
PBKS had a slow start when Shikhar Dhawan hit a boundary off the first ball. Bairstow followed with two fours but got out soon after. By the end of six overs, BKS had 40 runs on the board.
Prabhsimran Singh played well but got out after scoring 25 runs. PBKS reached 72 runs for the loss of two wickets in 8.5 overs.
After 10 overs, PBKS had scored 78 runs. Dhawan was still batting, but RCB bowlers started putting pressure. Alzarri Joseph got Liam Livingstone out for 17 runs.
Maxwell took a big wicket, dismissing Dhawan who scored 45 runs. PBKS reached 100 runs in 12.3 overs.
Jitesh Sharma and Sam Curran played well, adding 50 runs together. Curran got out after scoring 23 runs. Rawat took a great catch. PBKS scored 176/6 in their 20 overs.
Siraj and Maxwell were the top bowlers for RCB, each taking two wickets.
