Bilasipara, February 22, 2024: In a daring move, Salkocha police launched a surprise operation against notorious cattle smugglers operating in Chandardinga, Bilasipara. These smugglers have been consistently exploiting the cover of darkness to transport cattle across the Brahmaputra river into neighboring Bangladesh.
During the operation, Salkocha police skillfully chased down and successfully seized seven cattle at the Chanderdinga Brahmaputra river ghat in Bilasipara Sub-Division. The seized cattle were destined for illegal transportation to Bangladesh.
In addition to the successful interception, the vigilant Salkocha police also seized a vehicle used by the smugglers. The vehicle, with the registration number AS 26 C 6642 (Bolero Pick Up), was a key asset in their illicit operations.

Under the veil of night, the smugglers managed to escape the grasp of law enforcement, taking advantage of the surrounding darkness. However, the Salkocha police’s swift and decisive action not only thwarted the smuggling attempt but also sent a strong message to those engaging in such illegal activities.
The recovered seven cattle are now securely in the possession of the authorities, marking a significant blow to the ongoing cattle smuggling operations in the region. The seized vehicle serves as tangible evidence of the illegal activities, underscoring the determination of law enforcement to curb such practices.
