Sarbananda Sonowal Rallies Support for BJP in Dibrugarh Lok Sabha Constituency
Desk Report, April 08, 2024: Sarbananda Sonowal, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate for the No 13 Dibrugarh Lok Sabha constituency, undertook an extensive campaign across the Tinsukia Legislative Assembly Constituency to galvanize support for the BJP in the upcoming elections.
Sonowal addressed public meetings at several venues, including Laipuli Maranakari village, Mahakali Tea Estate, Chandmari, Manav Kalyan Puja Bhawan, and DS Marriage Hall. He was accompanied by Union Minister of State, Rameswar Teli; Assam Government Minister, Sanjay Kishan; and Assam Minister, Bimal Borah, along with other prominent leaders from the BJP and its NDA allies.
Speaking at the campaign, Union Minister of Ports, Shipping & Waterways and Ayush, Sarbananda Sonowal, emphasized the vision of ‘Viksit Bharat’ (Developed India) under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He praised the Modi government’s good governance since 2014, which has provided numerous opportunities for people to lead a life of dignity, honor, and respect. Sonowal also acknowledged the pivotal role of ‘Nari Shakti’ (Women Power) in building a compassionate, inclusive, and benevolent society, emphasizing harmony over conflict.
During the campaign meeting at Laipuli village, Union Minister of State for Petroleum & Natural Gas, Rameswar Teli, highlighted the public’s recognition of the Narendra Modi government’s achievements. He confidently claimed that the people of Dibrugarh Lok Sabha constituency would elect Sarbananda Sonowal with a record margin of 5 lakh votes.
Criticizing the Congress party for its failure over six decades, Sonowal asserted, “Despite multiple opportunities given to the Congress to govern India for sixty years, the people were let down by its inept, inefficient, and corrupt governments. The Congress must bear the consequences of this betrayal of trust, and its tally of members will diminish to 20 to 25 in this election.”
At the scenic Mahakali Tea Estate, surrounded by the lush greenery of a picturesque tea garden, Sonowal addressed the tea community in their native language, Chadri. He acknowledged the community’s dedication to preserving rich culture and workmanship and sought their support in advancing the journey towards a ‘Viksit Bharat.’
The fervent campaign led by Sarbananda Sonowal underscores the BJP’s concerted efforts to consolidate its support base in the Dibrugarh Lok Sabha constituency ahead of the crucial elections.
