Goalpara Health Department Official Nabbed for Bribery in Designation Correction Case

In a decisive anti-corruption operation, the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption, Assam, apprehended a government employee while accepting a bribe. Manoj Kr Ghosh, a Senior Assistant in the office of the Joint Director of Health Services, Goalpara, was caught red-handed.

The incident occurred after Ghosh demanded a bribe from a complainant for rectifying their designation in the FinAssam portal. Following the complaint, officials laid a trap to expose the unethical act.

The operation was carried out meticulously to ensure transparency. Ghosh was intercepted immediately after accepting the bribe, and all evidence was secured.

The Directorate confirmed that legal action has been initiated under relevant sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act. Authorities assured the public of their continued efforts to root out corruption.
