Serious Collision on National Highway 17 in Nayahat: Multiple Injured, Traffic Disrupted
Dhubri: A major road accident occurred on National Highway 17 in Nayahat, Bilasipara, resulting in severe injuries to multiple passengers and drivers. The collision involved a Maruti Celerio, an auto, and a motorcycle, all of which collided head-on. Emergency services quickly arrived at the scene to manage the situation.
The accident severely injured passengers and drivers, who were immediately transported to Dhubri Medical College & Hospital, Bagribari Model Hospital, and Bilasipara Hospital. Their condition remains critical. The vehicles involved in the crash include a Maruti Celerio (registration number AS 01 EF 5948), a bike (registration number AS 17K 6619), and an auto (registration number AS 17 C 4530).
Due to this serious accident, a major traffic jam formed on National Highway 17, causing significant delays. The Nayahat Out Post Police team reached the accident site promptly and conducted a rescue operation to clear the road and assist the injured.
Among those hurt in the crash are Ranjit Sarkar (42), a resident of Golakganj, and Kurban Ali (39) from Bilasipara. The police continue to investigate the cause of the accident while ensuring the road is cleared for traffic.
