Major Drug Busts by Cachar Police: Three Arrested with Suspected Heroin and Significant Seizure of YABA Tablets
Silchar, April 01, 2024: In a significant development in the ongoing fight against narcotics in the region, the Cachar Police conducted a special operation at Baga Bazar under the jurisdiction of Dholai Police Station. The operation led to the apprehension of two suspected individuals, identified as Md Mojibur Rahman Borbhuiya of Kokai Punji, Cachar, and Hirumoni Laskar of Khanpur, Cachar.
During the operation, the police seized 31 cases of soap, weighing 375 grams each, which are suspected to contain heroin. This major seizure highlights the relentless efforts of the Cachar Police in curbing the illicit drug trade in the area.
In a separate incident, acting on a credible tip-off, the Cachar Police apprehended another individual, Hilal Uddin Barbhuiya of Uttarlalpani, Cachar, in the Uttarlalpani area under the jurisdiction of Jirighaat Police Station. The police seized approximately 10,000 tablets, weighing 966 grams, suspected to be YABA tablets from his possession.
Both cases are currently under investigation by the Cachar Police to uncover the full extent of the drug networks and to bring all those involved to justice.
