STF Assam Police Apprehends Man with 23 Vials of Suspected Heroin in Guwahati Raid
Guwahati, May 22, 2024: The Special Task Force (STF) of Assam Police apprehended a man in possession of 23 vials of suspected heroin in a targeted raid conducted in Guwahati’s Koinadhara area, under the jurisdiction of Basistha Police Station. The operation was initiated based on credible intelligence, officials confirmed.
According to an official statement, the raid took place on the evening of May 21, 2024. The apprehended individual has been identified as 33-year-old Mohammed Abul Sama, originally from Buraburi village under Mayang Police Station in Morigaon district. Currently, he resides in Khanapara, Guwahati.
During the operation, approximately 30.5 grams of suspected heroin were seized. In addition to the narcotics, the STF recovered Rs 2,160 in cash and two mobile phones from the suspect. The seized items have been taken into custody for further examination.
The accused, Mohammed Abul Sama, is being processed for further legal action, officials stated. This arrest highlights the continued efforts of the Assam Police to combat drug trafficking and maintain law and order in the region.
