STF Arrests Most-Wanted Jihadi in Assam’s Dhubri District; Seizes Key Evidence
Dhubri: In a decisive step against extremist activities, the Special Task Force (STF) of Assam Police arrested a suspected jihadi during a raid in Bandhabgaon, Bilasipara, under Dhubri district on December 27. The accused, identified as Sahinur Islam, is considered a most-wanted jihadi linked to extremist networks.
The arrest followed precise intelligence inputs, underscoring the authorities’ commitment to combating such threats. Alongside the arrest, the STF recovered several incriminating items. Among them were an 829-page Urdu book titled ‘Nuriliza’, a 47-page handwritten book named ‘Zana Wahid’, an Aadhaar card, passport, PAN card, a mobile phone, and other documents believed to hold significant evidence.
Authorities stated that the seized materials would undergo detailed analysis to uncover potential connections to extremist organizations and activities. The evidence is expected to provide critical insights into the suspected individual’s role and networks.
The STF reaffirmed its dedication to safeguarding peace and security in Assam. Officials emphasized that the operation aligns with their ongoing campaign to neutralize extremist elements threatening the state’s harmony.
